As kids we all might have heard one or other kinds of wired stories about witch and witchcraft: such as the magical transformation of one thing into a completely different being. Who would forget the bizarre story of how Sudanese National Football team bewitched football into a cat. Or the Indian football team through the magic of witchcraft changed football into tiger or even into numerous balls so as to confuse the goal keeper which ball to catch. In fact as kids we used to believe that is why India never appeared on FIFA World Cup Competition. You because it was banned due to their witchcraft...Okay we all know, at least now, that those witchcraft stories had no logical base. They might trace their origin in the mind of a twisted or witted child. But, how about this story from the BBC about the split of the Ghana national team in which the Ghana coach was quoted as saying that witchcraft is the reason for the split of the national team? According to the coach some players used witchcraft against their own players that ultimately resulted in team being divided. The Ghana coach, Serbian Goran Stevanovic, made this claim in a leaked report on the Black Stars' failure at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, where they were beaten by eventual winners Zambia in the semi-finals. In his report to Ghana Football Association's (GFA) executive committee he writes: "We all need to help in changing some players' mentality about using 'black power' to destroy themselves, and also make sure we instil discipline and respect for each other...After losing to Zambia, there arose so many accusations amongst the players.” "It has always happened, but players have used it to protect themselves and normally in search of luck," Sarfo Gyami, who was a member of the Ghana side at the 1992 Nations Cup, told BBC Sport. "I have never heard of a situation when players have used it against their own colleagues. That is a very bad situation."
Do you believe in witchcraft? Is it possible to achieve such kind of impact as transformation of matter into a completely different one as well as dividing idea through the power of witchcraft?
