London 2012: Cameroon coach says Brazilian women players are too fat

From The Telegraph

After his team was trashed 5-0 in the hand of Brazil in the London Olympics, the Cameroon Women National Football Team coach said that his opponents are too fat and won’t be able to win the Olympic gold.  Enow Ngachu was not impressed with Brazilian performance and claimed they needed to shed a few pounds if they were to complete a memorable campaign.

He said: “Brazil are the favourites and they have nearly all the best players in the world. When you have a player like Marta in your team you are about 80 per cent certain to win.

“But there are other quality teams in this tournament, like North Korea and the USA. Brazil need to improve their defensive system and their players look a bit heavy to me – that might be a problem for them as well.”

The Brazil coach Jorge Barcellos on his part responded by saying “As for the players being too heavy, they all work hard on their body fat and they move quickly enough and are playing very well. I know we are going to play better and better and that’s the only answer everyone needs to know.”
