Millions us across the world will glue to our TV as Hollywood getting ready for 85th Academy Award Sunday night. While waiting for entertainment’s biggest night, let us look back at some of the most memorable Oscar moments from the past.
1. Hattie McDaniel's winning the award for Best Supporting Actress in Gone with the Wind (1939). She was the fist black person to win an Oscar.
2. Sidney Poitier winning an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Lilies of the Field (1963). He is the first black person to win an Oscar in a leading role.
3. Sacheen Littlefeather refusing to accept the Best Actor Oscar on behalf of Marlon Brando for his performance in "The Godfather" (1973)
4. Tom Hanks winning the Oscar for Actor in a Leading role for his performance in Philadelphia (1993)
5. Adrien Brody winning best actor for The Pianist in 2002. His passinate kiss of Halle Berry is considered as one of the most memorable moments.
