"A Lion's Heart" by Mikias Girma

They say you run with your legs, but the facts disagree. Anyone can run. But to get to the finish first, it takes more. In the 1960 Olympics, Abebe Bikila didn't feel comfortable in his running shoes, so he took his shoes off & ran a marathon barefoot. He didn't fear broken glasses. He didn't fear pain. He didn't fear his opponents; his opponents feared him! While running, Abebe focused on one goal! After finishing first & winning the Gold Medal, Abebe said, "I wanted the world to know that my country, Ethiopia, has always won with determination and heroism."We see a lion on the Ethiopian flag, The Lion Of Judah. That lion doesn't wear shoes. That lion runs barefoot to protect the family and country! Instead of focusing on running barefoot, we need to look at an important thing that we can't see! You run with your heart! Like Abebe Bikila, Ethiopia has a lion's heart!
