It's so hard to remember
But it's so easy to forget
Amharic, we no longer read & write
But we speak daily since we met
I love my country
More than words can explain
My heart expresses love
Though unwritten words bring pain
My heart recalls
The 13 Months Of Sunshine
I made a vow to learn to write
Because Amharic is mine
I'll learn & teach tomorrow
When I go back home
The joyful letters I'll follow
