Sudan and South Sudan agree for the implementation of peace agreement

African Union mediator Thabo Mbeki said the leaders of Sudan and South Sudan sides had agreed "unconditionally" to implement a deal first struck in September, according to The BBC. Both the leader of Sudan Omar al Bashir and South Sudan Salva Kiir have attended the negotiation in Addis Ababa

African Union mediators will now lay out a timetable for the implementation of all outstanding agreements.

This is expected to be in place by the end of next week, and if the timetable is respected, a demilitarized buffer zone between the two countries will be set up.
