US Congressman claims that American schools will never be innovative unless modeled on Islamic education system
Congressman Andre Carson, of the 7th District of Indiana, said that America’s school system would be improved if schools were modeled after “madrasas. Madrasas are Islamic schools with religious teachings founded on the Quran.
He made the remarks during a May 26 presentation at an Islamic Circle of North America convention. In the speech he said that Americas will never achieve ‘educational innovation and ingenuity’ unless they look to madrassas for inspiration. ‘America will never tap into educational innovation and ingenuity without looking at the model that we have in our madrassas, in our schools, where innovation is encouraged, where the foundation is the Quran. And that model that we are pushing in some of our schools meets the multiple needs of students,' he said
